Should the pope ask for something more realistic like world peace rather than wanting the UN to get some teeth?

That's great coming from him. Why doesn't he do something for world poverty like sell off the vatican treasures which never go on show? Why have vaults loaded with beautiful things which never see the light of day when they could be sold and given some public or private ownership perhaps the public could then see them?
