What happened to our friendship?

Okk, so there is a boy who is my friend and he is very weird, but funny. At the beginning of the year, one of his guy friends told me that he thought I was cute. I was happy because I also thought of him the same way but I didnt want our friendship to be ruined so we just stayed friends. A couple of months later went by and everything was the same, we continued being friends but we wouldnt talk much because I wouldnt see him much. Anyways, the fair came into town and I went and saw him. He was with his friends including a couple of girls. I said hi to him and he said hi back, but it seemed like he didnt want to say hi to me. I was confused because we were still friends, but then I thought that maybe he didnt want to say hi because he was too busy. So then after the fair ped I would see him in school and say hi to him again, but it seemed like he didnt want to say hi to me. So is he mad at me ,or does he think he's too cool for me now 'cause he started being around cool people? What do you think?
